headlines, headlights, headaches

i'm fine. i kept repeating this line for the nth time to every single person who's been asking about the vehicular accident i just got myself into a few days ago. while i appreciate the sudden (unwanted) attention to my health and well-being, i find it a bit overwhelming. even annoying at times. not that i don't appreciate the concern, it's just that i am not used to this kind of attention. plus, i am the suffer-in-silence type. so i'd probably be happier if people would just leave me alone and let me go back to my work as it clearly appears that there was no serious harm done to my life or limb - something everybody should be grateful about (i think).

i just want to say thank you to the guys at toyota cars for making those seatbelts really sturdy. otherwise, i would probably be in some boring hospital rooms right now staring blankly at a white wall, or something.

as to the possible liability of the negligent driver that has caused damage to my car, my friend and i were discussing whether or not we should press charges for reckless imprudence resulting to damage to property.

friend: what's the penalty for that crime again? prision mayor?
me: i don't remember. and i really don't care, i just want them to pay.

friend: what? you should seriously consider pressing charges, you could have been killed! or maybe we should just harass them!
me: i was not killed. so, relax. there is no need to overreact...

friend: did they talk to you already? did they sign an undertaking?
me: yes and no. i just gave them a deadline & told them what i'm capable of doing to them.

friend: what?! no document whatsoever?!
me: i trust them.. i think they would do as i say..

friend: trust?! we were trained to doubt!
me: err...
