Mass Effect 3 is a Role-playing Game (RPG) / Third-Person Shooter hybrid set in a Science Fiction universe. Mass Effect 3 is the third game in the popular Mass Effect series, and is rumored to be the final installment. In it players continue the adventures of Commander Shepard utilizing extreme character customization which is the hallmark feature of the series. Additional features include: the ability to import decisions from both of the previous games into the new game, ownership/play of previous games not required, customizable weapons, improved mobility and melee combat, many returning characters (if they were not killed off in previous imported games), an improved cover system that allows for more action and more.
Mass Effect 3 is an action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Officially announced on December 11, 2010, the game was released March 6, 2012 and marks the final chapter in the Mass Effect 3 trilogy of video games, completing the story of Commander Shepard. A Wii U version was announced during Nintendo's conference at E3 2012. Wii U port is being developed by an Australian company called Straight Right, and the game will be released as a Wii U launch in all territories under the title Mass Effect 3: Special Edition.
Mass Effect 3 combat system has been modified and refined. In particular, the cover system has been improved. There are more options for moving around the battlefield and scored an instant kill melee. More conventional grenades available and improve artificial intelligence is introduced. A four-player co-op multiplayer mode is also available. Gameplay in Mass Effect 3 is affected by decisions made in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, for players who have completed the game.
Mass Effect is a video game series that has been rewarded with both critical acclaim and a good following. The science fiction RPG is developed by Bioware. The original game was released for the PC and the Xbox 360 while starting from Mass Effect 2, the franchise titles have been made available to the PS3 as well. The first title in the trilogy sees main protagonist Commander Shepard fighting against the Reapers, which are mechanical beings of an alien race that seeks to take over the galaxy. He/she has to face Sovereign, a Reaper that serves as a vanguard.
The second title’s events happen a couple of years later. This time around, Shepard is fighting against the Collectors, which are of an alien race that abducts whole colonies of humans. The Collectors are trying to help the Reapers to get back to the Milky Way. The third title, which is also the last in the trilogy, will be focused on Shepard’s final stand against the original enemies, the Reapers.
Mass Effect has been able to combine a great storyline with excellent visuals. The storyline is able to take full advantage of well-rendered characters, their romances, diversity and the results of their choices. The voice acting is also handled well, provided by a group of talented and well-known actors. With such a well-crafted virtual world, some gamers may feel as if they have been exploring it for decades despite the fact that the franchise only consists of three titles, with the last one yet to be released.
